Influence of different design parameters on side channel compressor performance

Abstract Only few design guidelines for side channel compressors are published in open literature. Among those the most common ones from Grabow, Surek, and Raheel. In this publication we focus on guideline of which includes, among several analytical equations, two empirical estimates head coefficient blade angle. These lead to an uncertainty process could potentially effect performance curve machine. Therefore, five compressor geometries designed based Grabow with different angle order assess their influence onto performance. Those designs input parameters transient CFD simulations compute total pressure ratio isentropic efficiency. The results indicate that higher during a ratio, particular lower flow rates. Similarly, also increases furthermore reduces circulation channel. general, efficiency is much weaker, though.
